We deliver more than
just physical outcomes.
At Jump Start Kids, every skill we teach is designed to deliver more than a physical outcome — whether that's turn-taking, listening, or the strong shoulders and core needed for reading and writing. Every rep takes them one step closer to school readiness.

Built for how kids actually learn.
Every class is built on three foundations — the same ones we lay down from a child's very first term with us, and keep building on all the way to 6+.
Sensory Comfort
Before a child can learn a skill, they need to feel safe in their body, in the space, and in the group. Every lesson starts by building that comfort first.
Movement Vocabulary
Catching, kicking, crawling, balancing, throwing — every fundamental movement skill is introduced at its simplest form, then built up week by week.
Joyful Repetition
Confidence is built through repeat wins, not one big breakthrough. We want your child to leave every class smiling — and asking to come back.
Parent-led for 1 turning 2, coach-led from there. In our very first class, parents stay on the floor and move with their child — modelling, holding hands, cheering them on. From 2 turning 3 onward, we encourage parents to step back and let coaches take the lead, building your child's confidence to participate on their own.
One programme, six years, every step planned.
From a child's very first class to confident, independent play, every age group builds deliberately on the one before it. Here's the whole journey — and what you can expect from us at every stage.
Small groups, every week
6–8 children per class means real coaching attention for your child — not just supervision.
A clear age pathway
Every class is chosen for exactly where your child is right now — from first steps to sport-specific play at 6+.
Progress you can see
Milestones are logged every term in our reporting app, so you get more than a start-of-year impression.
Confidence built to last
Every stage is designed to send your child home wanting to come back next week.
A class for every stage.
Our programmes are named for the age your child is turning this year — not their exact birthday. Not sure which one fits? Jump to our age guide below.
1 turning 2
Often a child's very first class. We build comfort in their body, the gym space and the group — one joyful, repeated ritual at a time, with parents on the floor the whole way through.
- Sensory Comfort
- Movement Vocabulary
- Joyful Repetition
2 turning 3
Our first and most important aim is independence — helping your child feel happy and confident to join a class without a caregiver's support, while building the first true sporting foundations.
- Independence
- Confidence
- Gross Motor Patterns
3 turning 4
We build on 2 turning 3, but now introduce fine motor skills that prepare little hands to mark, draw and write — the foundations of "school readiness."
- Gross Motor Patterns
- Fine Motor Patterns
- Resilience
4 turning 5
Skills now come from specific sports — tennis, basketball, baseball and more — rather than broad movement. We build power generation, starting with correct body position.
- Fine Motor Patterns
- Resilience
- Power Generation
5 turning 6
We practise the movement, then set up a friendly "circuit" of the class with an added element of competition — introducing your child to the idea of exercise, and showing them it can be fun.
- Fine Motor Patterns
- Resilience
- Power & Intensity
6+
Our final programme puts everything into practice. Working mostly in pairs or teams across a range of sports, the goal is unconscious competence — the confidence to attempt any sport and achieve.
- Power Generation
- Intensity
- Competence
Which class is my child in?
Classes are named for the age your child turns during this calendar year — not the age they are today. So if your child is 2 on 1 January, they'll turn 3 this year, which means they belong in 2 turning 3.
This calculator uses 2026 as the current year. Message us on WhatsApp to confirm which location has a spot open.
Watch them grow, term by term.
Every school year is split into three stages — one per term — and every one of them builds on the last. Your coach is quietly logging real milestones the whole way through.
Beginner
Your child meets every skill for the first time. Coaches take a baseline on each milestone — most children start here, and that's exactly as it should be.
Intermediate
The same skills return with more challenge and less support. This is where most of the term's real progress happens — and where it starts to show.
Advanced
Skills are pushed toward mastery to close out the year, setting up exactly where your child will pick back up when they return next term.
An online reporting app, built around your child
Throughout the year, coaches assess your child against a set of physical and social-emotional milestones — things like balance, catching, crawling, and confidence in the group — and log where they sit on each one.
Once we've confirmed your spot on WhatsApp, we'll send you the link to follow their progress.
30 minutes, five skills, one weekly theme.
A weekly theme
Every class opens with a developmental focus for the week — the thread that ties all five skills together.
Five themed skills
Each one has a description, a coach and parent delivery cue, and the reasoning behind it — explained to parents as we go.
Real coaching, every rep
Our coaches demonstrate, then circulate to support every child individually — cheering loudly for every win, however small.
